Miley Cyrus For Sex & The City Prequel

With Sex and the City 2 bombing spectacularly at the US Box Office, it's clear that talks of a Sex and the City 3 needed to be rethought.

So it's interesting to hear that New Line Cinemas are planning on bringing a Sex and the City prequel to the big screen, with one of the hottest young stars around tapped to play a younger Carrie.

While the sahara-bound sequel has drawn its fair share of critics, a relative few (perhaps needlessly) have poked fun at the four ladies' increasingly mature years.

So it's no surprise to hear E! reporting that plans are afoot to adapt author Candace Bushell's prequel book, The Carrie Diaries, which focuses on a teenage Carrie's loves and losses in her senior year of High School, as well as part of her life in New York working as a writer.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole for the US market, then.

Miley Cyrus has previously expressed interest in playing the role, which is looking more likely in light of her recent cameo in Sex and the City 2.
